Use the following procedure to replace the cable straps
Inspect the control panel to determine how far the upper and lower box doors are allowed to open without being limited by the cable strap. If the doors do not open to at least 90 degree angle, replace the cable straps with longer cable straps. Refer to the Table 1 for the available length of the cable straps.

( 1 ) Use 143-8798 Strap for lower box. Also use the same strap for a version of upper box with cable strap mounting tabs on the sides of the box and the door.
( 2 ) Use 357-1598 Strap for a version of the box with cable strap mounting tabs on box cover and top of the door.Lower Box
If the lower box door is restrained from opening to at least 90 degree angle, replace the existing cable straps with 143-8798 Strap. The 143-8798 Strap will allow the lower door to open to an angle of 90 degrees.Upper Box
The replacement cable strap for the upper box is recommended based upon the specific type of box. The box type can be easily determined by performing quick inspection. The differences in the boxes and the replacement cable strap part numbers for the upper box are detailed in the following illustrations.

Refer to Illustrations 4, 5 and 6.In some rare cases the box configuration may not match with the versions of the box explained above. In such cases the Service Technician may use either of the cable straps that provide the best fit.Note: Refer to Table 1 for the required quantity of the cable straps.
