Attach.(1-Rework Procedure)Rework Procedure
1. Remove the two small, high-pressure turbochargers.2. Remove the wastegate.3. Underneath the right turbo, remove the 4P4864 Bypass Housing that supports the wastegate and remove the 4P4866 Coupling that directs bypassed exhaust gasses away from the wastegate. These are in the 9Y8911 Turbocharger Group.4. Install 4-6V1525 Studs into the new 1054321 Bypass Housing where bypassed exhaust gasses will exit the housing.5. Install the 1054321 Bypass Housing on the engine.6. Install the correct size orifice plate on the 4 studs on the 1054321 Bypass Housing.7. Install the new 1054322 Coupling on the 4 studs and install the nuts that were originally removed in Step 3.8. Open up the wastegate and replace the existing diaphram with a 3S6228 Diaphram.9. Install the wastegate and two 0R6757 Turbocharger Groups (high-pressure).10. When attaching the new turbochargers to the 7E0087 Exhaust Coupling that is in between the smaller and larger turbo, replace the six 1.75-inch 7L3195 Bolts with six 2-inch 5P7128 Bolts on each high-pressure turbocharger.11. Remove the 2 aftercooler water out temperature switches. They will be either 8N1425 (180° F) or 7N7849 (190° F). Install 2-7N9785 (225° F) Switches. These switches are located in the 8X0271 Wiring And Lighting Group. The high-pressure turbochargers must only be upgraded in pairs and must have the correct orifice plate installed, all at the same time.
Install only one orifice plate per truck. Orifice plate selection is based on altitude as shown in the table below:
Above 12,000 ft., remove or disconnect the wastegate.
