(1) Charge/Pilot Gear Pump
(2) Steering PumpCharge/pilot pump (1) is a fixed displacement gear pump which provides oil to the brake combination valve. Brake/pilot pump (1) also provides pilot oil to the steering and implement hydraulic systems. The brake/pilot pump is attached to steering pump (2) on the right side of the machine beneath the cab. Charge/pilot pump (1) runs continuously with oil flow controlled by a charge valve. When pressure in the brake system is 15860 345 kPa (2300 50 psi), the brake charge valve directs oil flow to the accumulators to charge the system. When pressure reaches 18616 345 kPa (2700 50 psi), the brake charge valve diverts oil flow back to the tank through the cooling circuit.
