Before any hydraulic hoses are disconnected from the steering cylinder, release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Start the engine and move the ejector forward all the way. Stop the engine and loosen the cap slowly on the hydraulic tank. Move all the hydraulic controls backward and forward.
1. Disconnect and plug hose assemblies (1) and (2) from the steering cylinder.2. Fasten a hoist to the steering cylinder. Remove bolt (3) and pin assembly (4) from the head end of the cylinder. 3. Remove two bolts (5) and retainer (6). 4. Using tooling (A) remove pin (7) from the rod end of the cylinder. 5. Remove lubrication line (8) 6. Remove steering cylinder (9). The weight of the cylinder is 90 kg (200 lb). 7. Remove the bearing from the draft frame with tooling (B).Install Steering Cylinders
1. Install the bearing in the draft frame with tooling (A). Install the bearing until it is even with the outside surface of the bracket on the draft frame. 2. Fasten a hoist to steering cylinder (1) and put it in position on the draft frame and between the link assemblies. 3. Install pin (2) in the rod end of the cylinder. Install retainer (4) and the two bolts (3). 4. Install pin assembly (7) and bolt (8) in the head end of the cylinder.5. Remove plugs and connect hose assemblies (5) and (6) to the steering cylinder. 6. Install lubrication line (9) to the rod end of the cylinder.7. Start the machine. Turn the machine from stop to stop to release the air in the steering cylinders.8. Fill the hydraulic tank with oil to the correct level. See the Maintenance Manual.9. Lubricate each of the joints upon completion of installation. See Operation And Maintenance Manual for type of lubricant.
