Information:
1. Remove plate (1) from the counterweight. The excavator must be on a level surface to remove the counterweight. Use a 988 or 992 Wheel Loader, or a hoist to remove the counterweight.
Cables (2) must have the capacity to lift 7937 kg (17500 lb).
2. Fasten cables (2) to the wheel loader and counterweight. Use tooling (A) to prevent damage to the cables.3. Remove eight bolts (3) and two plates (4). 4. Use one of the bolts that held the plates in place to remove shear pins (6). Remove shear pins (6) from each side of the counterweight.5.. Remove counterweight (5). The weight of the counterweight is 7937 kg (17500 lb). The following steps are for the installation of the counterweight.6. Put counterweight (5) in position on the machine.7. Install shear pins (6).8. Install plates (4) and bolts (3).9. Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 34 13 N m (25 10 lb ft). Allow the counterweight to settle onto shear pins (6). Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 1750 165 N m (1300 120 lb ft).10. Remove the cables from the counterweight and install plate (1).
