New turbochargers are available for G3516C and G3520C Engines. The main improvements to the turbochargers are the following items:
New connection for the compressor
Addition of a centering ringThe new connection for the compressor has the following improvements: increased thread size, triple start thread and compressor key. This allows a more rugged connection that is easier to service. The improvements will increase the service life of the connection.The addition of a centering ring to the turbine housing improves reliability. The centering ring will reduce the risk of the turbine to rub against the turbine housing.Note: There are only two parts from the former turbochargers that are reusable on the new turbochargers. The nozzle ring and the compressor housing may be reused. Table 1 lists the new part numbers and the former part numbers.
