Removal Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Typical example
Slide locking tab (1) into the unlocked position.
Disconnect harness assembly (2) from position sensor (3) .
Remove bolt (4) .
Carefully remove position sensor (3) from the fuel injection pump.Note: Do not use a lever to remove the position sensor from the fuel injection pump.
Plug the hole for the position sensor in the fuel injection pump with a new plug.
Remove O-ring seal (5) from position sensor (3) .Installation Procedure

Typical example
Install a new O-ring seal (5) to the groove in position sensor (3) . Lubricate the new O-ring seal with Tooling (A) .
Remove the plug from the hole in the fuel injection pump for the position sensor.
Align the hole in position sensor (3) with the hole in the fuel injection pump. Install the position sensor to the fuel injection pump.Note: Do not use bolt (4) to pull the position sensor into position against the fuel injection pump.
Install bolt (4) . Tighten the bolt to a torque of 14 N m (10 lb ft).
Connect harness assembly (2) to position sensor (3) .
Slide locking tab (1) into the locked position.
