Junction block in the battery box
Remove the cables from the existing junction block and note the locations of the cables on the junction block. After the cables have been removed, install new 7Y-8168 Grommet (35) on the machine frame.Note: The following cables are connected to Terminal (A) .
Positive battery cable from the starting motor
Positive auxiliary starting cable
Red power cable from the electronics bayThe following cables are connected to Terminal (B) .
Positive starting motor cable (rear battery set)The following cables are connected to Terminal (C) .
Positive battery cable (front battery set)
Replace the existing junction block with new 8C-6358 Junction Block Assembly (36). Use 8T-4136 Bolts and 7X-7729 Hard Washers (34) .
Cut the unused, red power cable that is enclosed in the main harness. Cut the wire approximately 25.4 mm (1 inch) after the cable splits off the main harness. Refer to the arrow in Illustration 11 for this approximate location. Cover the end of the wire with electrical tape or cap off the end of the wire.Note: The red power cable that is in the engine harness inside the battery box will no longer be used. Step 17 will cut one end of the wire and the other end of the wire is cut in step 12 of this procedure.Note: If either end of the wires are not covered, a dangerous ground fault can occur.
Reinstall all cables on the junction block with 6V-8188 Nuts and 7F-0560 Washers . Install 267-5102 Cable As (32) and 267-7293 Cable As (33) to center terminal (A) on the junction block in the battery box.
Reinstall the positive starting motor cable (rear battery set) to terminal (B) on the junction block. Reinstall the positive battery cable (front battery set) to terminal (C) on the junction block. Reinstall the auxiliary starting cable to terminal (A) on the junction block. Torque all nuts on the junction block to 70 15 N m (50 11 lb ft).

Battery wiring
From the junction block, secure the battery cable on the outside of the machine frame to the existing boss. Use 3S-8665 Clip , 5G-3676 Grommet , 8T-4136 Bolt , and 8T-4121 Hard Washer (40). Secure the cable to the block on the inside of the machine frame with 6G-2256 Clamp , 6G-2263 Spacer , 2G-8767 Washers , and 8T-6466 Bolt (41). Refer to Illustration 13.
Attach 134-2636 Bracket As (42) to the round boss that is welded to the frame. Use an 8T-4121 Hard Washer and an 8T-4139 Bolt . Secure the starting motor cable to the bracket with 6V-0683 Grommet , 5P-7462 Clip , 5P-7463 Clip , 8T-4136 Bolt , and 8T-4121 Hard Washer (43). Refer to Illustration 13.
Secure the cable with two additional clamp assemblies (44) to the lower holes in the mounting plate. These two clamp assemblies consist of a 6V-0683 Grommet , a 5P-7462 Clip , and an 8T-4121 Hard Washer . Ensure that the green tape on the cable
