FILTER GP-OIL 2667792 - Caterpillar

Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. To help prevent possible injury, turn the start switch off when changing fuel filters or water separator elements. Clean up fuel spills immediately.
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Raise hood (1) by activating switch (2). Turn the battery disconnect switch (3) to the OFF position after hood (1) has been raised.

Remove hose (4).

Disconnect bolts (5).
Disconnect hose assemblies (7). Plug the coolant lines with Tooling (B). Move hose assemblies (7) out of the way.
Disconnect tube assembly (6) and tube assemblies (8).

Disconnect harness assembly (9).
Remove wire clip (14) in order to remove harness assembly (15).
Disconnect temperature sensor (16).
Remove bolts (13) in order to disconnect tube assembly (12) and the gasket. Note: The gasket is a one time use only and must be discarded.
Remove nuts (11). Remove combustion head (10).

Remove gasket (17). Note: Gasket (17) is a one time use only and must be discarded.
Remove tube assembly (18).

Remove gasket (19). Note: Gasket (19) is a one time use only and must be discarded.
Remove studs (20).

Remove spark plug (21).
Remove fittings (22) and (23).
Remove filters (24) and (25). Installation Procedure
Install combustion head (10) in the reverse order of removal.
Install new gaskets (17) and (19).
Apply Tooling (A) onto the threads of studs (20). Install the studs. Tighten studs (20) to a torque of 17 2 N m (150 18 lb in).
Apply Tooling (A) onto the threads of studs (20) and nuts (11).

Using the torque sequence illustrated in Illustration 11 to tighten nuts (11) to a torque of 23 3 N m (204 27 lb in). Tighten nuts (11) again using the torque sequence illustrated in Illustration 11 to a torque of 28 3 N m (21 2 lb ft). Tighten nuts (15) again using the torque sequence illustrated in Illustration 11 to a torque of 28 3 N m (21 2 lb ft).
Tighten filters (24) and (25) to a torque of 60 6 N m (44 4 lb ft).
Tighten fittings (22) and (23) to a torque of 30 2 N m (22 1 lb ft). The final torque of 30 2 N m (22 1 lb ft) must occur within 20° - 55° angle of rotation from a pre-torque level of 5 N m (44.3 lb in).
Tighten spark plug (21) to a torque of 47 4 N m (35 3 lb ft).
Apply Tooling (C) to the threads of temperature sensor (16) and install the sensor. Tighten temperature sensor (16) to a torque of 45 5 N m (33 3 lb ft).
Install a new gasket before installing bolts (13).
Check the coolant level. If necessary, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Coolant - Change" for the proper filling
