Assembly Procedure

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Install O-ring seal (49) and backup ring (48) onto plug (47). Lubricate O-ring seal (49) and backup ring (48) with lubricant that is being sealed.
Install valve (54), poppet (53), spring (52), guide (51), shims (50), and plug (47). Tighten plug (47) to a torque of 300 40 N m (220 30 lb ft).

Install backup rings (41) and O-ring seals (46) onto plug assembly (42). Lubricate backup rings (41) and O-ring seals (46) with lubricant that is being sealed.
Install pin (43), O-ring seal (44), and plug (45) into plug assembly (42). Tighten plug (45) to a torque of 23 2 N m (205 18 lb in).

Install O-ring seal (36) onto guide (37). Install guide (37). Tighten guide (37) to a torque of 35 3 N m (26 2 lb ft).
Install pin (38), piston (39), and valve assembly (40). Tighten valve assembly (40) to a torque 215 25 N m (160 18 lb ft).

Install O-ring seal (33) onto housing assembly (34).
Install valve (35), backup rings (27), O-ring seal (28), piston (29), spool (30), spring (31), spring (32), O-ring seal (22), backup rings (23), O-ring seal (24), and housing assembly (25) into housing (34). Tighten housing assembly (25) to a torque of 59 6 N m (44 4 lb ft).
Install poppet (26), spring (17), O-ring seal (18), washer (19), adjustment screw (20), and nut (21) into housing assembly (25). Tighten nut (21) to a torque of 20 2 N m (177 18 lb in).

Install O-ring seal (12) onto seat (13). Lubricate O-ring seals (12) with lubricant that is being sealed. Install O-ring seal (12) onto plug assembly (15).
Install seat (13) into plug assembly (15). Install nut (16) onto seat (13).

Install ball (10) and valve assembly (11). Tighten valve assembly (11) to a torque of 48 5 N m (35 4 lb ft).
Install relief valve (9). Tighten relief valve (9) to a torque of 95 14 N m (70 10 lb ft).

Install O-ring seal (6), backup ring (5), and bearing (4) onto guide assembly (3).
Install valve (8), spring (7), guide assembly (3), cover (2), and bolts (1). Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 100 20 N m (74 15 lb ft). End By:
Install the load control valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Load Control Valve (Stick Cylinder) - Install".
