Rear frame and dump body (1) Bolt and washer (2) Pad (3) Shims (4) Bolt and washer (5) SpacerProper installation of the body support pads will effectively balance the load weight. This will reduce the risk of possible damage to the rear frame. If the body support pads indicate uneven wear, readjusting the shims may correct the problem. Also, if the paint on the frame indicates uneven wear, readjusting the shims may correct the problem.Procedure to Install the Pad Assemblies to the Dump Body
Note: The truck should be parked on a level surface. The pivot pins for the dump body should be installed. The hoist cylinders should be installed.
Raise the dump body and install the body retaining pins. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Body Retaining Pin".
Install spacer (5) to the frame rail, using bolts and washers (4). Install Shims (3) and Pad (2) to spacer (5) with bolts and washers (1) .
Remove the body retaining pins. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Body Retaining Pin" Lower the dump body. Locate any gaps.
As required, add or remove shims (3) until the dump body sits evenly on the body support pads.Note: If it is necessary to raise the dump body again, ensure the body retaining pins are installed before work commences. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Body Retaining Pin".
