Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Install the new gasket and O-ring seals.

Install elbow (9) on turbocharger (8) .

Attach a suitable lifting device to turbocharger (8) . The weight of turbocharger (8) is approximately 43 kg (95 lb).Note: Discard the nuts after use. Use new nuts for installation.
Apply Tooling (A) to the studs of the exhaust manifold. Place turbocharger (8) into position and install nuts (7) . Tighten nuts (7) to a torque of 55 9 N m (41 7 lb ft).
