Inspect the vibration damper for signs of leakage or for a dented housing (12) . Either problem can cause metal ring (13) to contact housing (12) . Either problem will also affect the operation of the damper.

Install the vibration damper (8) on adapter (10) . The weight of vibration damper (8) is approximately 80 kg (176 lb). The weight of adapter (10) is approximately 34 kg (75 lb). Install bolts (11) .
Use Tooling (E) and a suitable lifting device to install vibration damper (8) and adapter (10) . The weight of the damper and the adapter is approximately 114 kg (251 lb).

Install stub shaft (4) on vibration damper (8) . Install bolts (9) .

Use a suitable lifting device to install damper assembly (7) . The weight of damper assembly (7) is approximately 26 kg (57 lb). Install bolts (6) .Note: Apply Tooling (F) to stub shaft (4) .
Install key (5) and wedge bracket (3) on stub shaft (4) according to the marks that were made during the removal procedure. Tighten the setscrew at location (X) . The wedge bracket must be installed in the same position in order to align the V-belts.
Install pulley (1) on wedge bracket (3) . Pulley (1) should be installed so the front surface is 1.6 3.0 mm (0.063 0.118 inch) in front of the surface of the fan drive pulley.
Install bolts (2) that fasten pulley (1) to wedge bracket (3) . Evenly tighten bolts (2) to a torque of 90 10 N m (66 7 lb ft). Repeat the tightening procedure until the torque does not change.
Install the V-belt of the refrigerant compressor on pulley (1) . Tighten the V-belt of the refrigerant compressor. For more information, refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Refrigerant Compressor - Remove and Install".
Install the V-belts of the fan drive.
