Personal injury can result from air pressure.Personal injury can result without following proper procedure. When using pressure air, wear a protective face shield and protective clothing.Maximum air pressure at the nozzle must be less than 205 kPa (30 psi) for cleaning purposes.
The rolling guards need to be cleaned regularly. Adjust the frequency of cleaning according to the effects of the operating environment.
An excess accumulation of dirt and debris may affect the tension of the rolling guards. Improper tension may cause excessive wear to the RAES components.After the rolling guards are cleaned, visually inspect the rolling guards. If excessive sagging exists, adjustment may be needed.Refer to System Operation/Testing and Adjusting for the proper procedure.

Lower the Rear Access Egress System (RAES) in order to fully extend the rolling guards (1).
Blow out the rolling guards with compressed air. Move the air nozzle in a systematic pattern so that the air flow covers the whole guard.
Visually inspect the tension of the rolling guards. Note: If excessive sagging exists, adjustment may be needed. Refer to System Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting for the proper procedure.
