Turn the key start switch to the OFF position. Disconnect the harness from the all wheel drive ECM. Disconnect the harness from the transmission ECM.
Use a 6V-7070 Digital Multimeter in order to measure the resistance at the harness for the transmission ECM. Measure the resistance between contact 8 (wire 893-GN) and contact 9 (wire 892-BR). The resistance should be at least 5000 ohms.Schematic...

Leave the key start switch in the OFF position. Perform a continuity test on the circuit for the CAT data link. Measure the electrical continuity in the harness for the all wheel drive ECM.
Place a jumper between contact 26 and contact 27 on the harness for the transmission ECM.
Use a 6V-7070 Digital Multimeter in order to measure the resistance at the harness for the all wheel drive ECM. Measure the resistance between contact 8 (wire 893-GN) and contact 9 (wire 892-BR). The resistance should be less than 5 ohms.
Remove the jumper between contact 26 and contact 27 on the harness for the transmission ECM.Schematic...

Clean the contacts on the harness for the all wheel drive ECM. Clean the contacts on the harness for the transmission ECM.
Connect the harness for the all wheel drive ECM to the all wheel drive ECM. Connect the harness for the transmission ECM to the transmission ECM.
Turn the key start switch to the ON position. Put the all wheel drive ECM in the service mode. Clear all the inactive faults from the all wheel drive ECM. Check the all wheel drive ECM for the 248-09 fault code.
