1. Remove the front and rear guards that cover the drive shaft.2. Fasten a hoist to the drive shaft as shown. 3. Remove four bolts (4) that hold yoke assembly (3) to spider assembly (1). Slide yoke assembly (3) away from the spider assembly.4. Remove four bolts (2) that hold spider assembly (1) to the torque converter yoke. Remove the spider assembly from the torque converter yoke.5. Remove cap (5) from yoke assembly (3). Slide yoke assembly (3) forward and off the tube.6. Remove the washers, seal and cap (5) from the tube. 7. The weight of tube (6) is 32 kg (70 lb.). Remove bolts (7) that hold tube (6) to spider assembly (9). Remove tube (6) from the machine.8. Remove bolts (8) that hold spider assembly (9) to the transmission yoke. Remove the spider assembly from the transmission yoke.Install Drive Shaft
1. Put spider assembly (2) in position on yoke (1), and install bolts (3) that hold it. Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 271 14 N m (200 10 lb.ft.).2. Put tube (4) in position on spider assembly (2), and install bolts (5) that hold it. Tighten bolts (5) to a torque of 319 7 N m (235 5 lb.ft.). 3. Put cap (6), two washers (7) and seal (8) in position on the front end of tube (4) as shown. 4. Align pin (9) on yoke assembly (10) with the missing tooth on the spline of tube (4). Put yoke assembly (10) in position on tube (4). Put the washers and seal in position against the end of yoke assembly (10), and install the cap that holds them. 5. Put spider assembly (11) in position on torque converter yoke (12), and install the bolts that hold it. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 271 14 N m (200 10 lb.ft.).6. Put yoke assembly (10) in position on spider assembly (11), and install the bolts that hold it. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 319 7 N m (235 5 lb.ft.). 7. Put guards (13), (14) and clamps (15) in position, and install the bolts that hold them.
