When submitting claim for Parts Stock Action, Use the appropriate 99Z as the s/n, the appropriate Service Letter Program Number as the Part number in the Part Causing Failure field, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Description Code.
The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program.Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.

PROBLEM
The 6I-9255, 6T-1783, 6T-2317, 6Y-7219, 7T-1860, 102-8671, 147-2280, 169-7055, 221-9685, 241-4890, 262-7319, and 262-7320 Friction Discs in dealer parts stock may have been machined incorrectly or may have debris in the grooves.
ACTION REQUIRED
Inspect the date code on all ALL 6I-9255, 6T-1783, 6T-2317, 6Y-7219, 7T-1860, 102-8671, 147-2280, 169-7055, 221-9685, 241-4890, 262-7319, and 262-7320 Friction Discs in dealer parts stock. The date code is marked on the surface of the friction disc, between the friction material and the inside edge of the disc (Arrow in Image1). The date code format is day/month/year.
- If the date code is 15 September, 2010 or earlier, remove part from dealer parts stock.
- If the date code is after 15 September, 2010, return the part to the original packaging, mark the package to indicate the part has been inspected according to this program (PI7#### / REBE6660), and return the part to dealer parts stock.

SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES
Submit one claim for all parts removed from dealer parts stock.
PARTS DISPOSITION
For NON-NACD:
Handle the parts in accordance with your warranty bulletin on warranty parts handling.
For NACD:
Parts should be held for possible return for engineering analysis. Hold all of these parts for 30 days. If the parts are to be returned "Send It Back" will generate a Parts Return Request (PRR). After 30 days handle the parts in accordance with you Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
