The short circuit conditions can occur when the fuse opens in order to clear a short circuit. If a short circuit condition should happen in the DC control, the control power will be removed from the source breaker that is located in the switchgear. If the control power for the source breaker is removed, then a potential exists for a reverse power condition on the respective source.The Caterpillar Switchgear has been designed with a redundant control power circuit in order to enhance the level of system protection. The level of system protection can be changed at the request of the customer. Contact the "Intelligent Switchgear Organization" (ISO) in order to obtain a proposal to modify the level of system protection for the specific switchgear application.
