4. Remove plugs (3), springs and plungers from cover (2).5. Remove the bolts that hold cover (4) in place.
Cover (4) is spring loaded.
6. Remove cover (4), pin (5) and spring from cover (2). Remove the seal from cover (4). 7. Remove safety wires and bolts (6) that hold shifting forks (7) in position on shafts (9).8. Remove shafts (9) and shifting forks (7) from the transmission cover.9. Remove seals (8) from the transmission cover.10. Remove cover (29) from the transmission.11. Remove locks, bolts and washer (28) from the upper transmission shaft (32).12. Remove the washer (10), sprocket (11) and retainer (13). Remove the seal (12) from retainer (13). Install sprocket (11), washer (10), and the bolts that hold washer (10) in place. 13. Use tooling (A) as shown to remove the upper shaft (32) from the transmission case until the shaft is clear of bearing (27), two bearings (25) and spacer (23). Spacer (30), bearing (14), spacer (15) and race (33) will be removed with the shaft. 14. Make a support for the end of the upper shaft as shown to prevent damage to the bearings as the shaft is removed.15. Remove spacer (26), gear (24), spacer (22), collar assembly (21), gear (20), spacer (19), gear (18), collar assembly (17) and gear (16) through the opening in the top of the transmission as the shaft (32) is removed. Remove the bearings from gears (16), (18) and (20).16. Remove bearings (25) and spacer (23) from gear (24).17. Remove washer (10), sprocket (11) and spacer (30) from shaft (32). 18. Use tooling (B) to remove bearing (14) from shaft (32). Remove pin (31) and spacer (15).19. Use tooling (B) to remove race (33) from shaft (32).20. Remove bearing (27) from the transmission case. 21. Remove the bolts that hold the pinion housing (45) to the transmission case. 22. Remove pinion housing (45) and pinion (57) by pushing against pinion (57) from inside the transmission case with a crow bar.23. Remove the bolts, washer (60) and yoke (59) from pinion (57).24. Remove retainer (47). Remove seal (50) from retainer (47).25. Use tooling (A) to remove pinion (57) from pinion housing (45), sleeve (58) and bearing (46).26. Remove snap ring (55), race and roller assembly (56) and bearing (46) from pinion housing (45).27. Remove the outer race from the end of pinion (57).28. Remove cover (49), bolts and washer (44).29. Use a brass bar and hammer to push the lower shaft (35) from the pinion end of the shaft until the shaft is clear of the inner race of bearing (43) and bearing (34) is clear of the transmission case.30. Remove the lower shaft (35) with bearing (34) and spacer (36) from the transmission case.31. Remove bolts and washer (48), bearing (34) and spacer (36) from shaft (35).32. Remove spacer (42), gear (41), spacer (40), gear (39), spacer (38) and gear (37) through the opening in the top of the transmission case as shaft (35) is removed.33. Remove safety wire and bolt
