Verify that all the components of the front suspension cylinder are clean and free of foreign material prior to installation.
Inspect all components for wear or damage and replace the components, if necessary.Note: The following procedure is identical for both sides of the machine. Repeat the procedure for the remaining side of the machine, if necessary.

Steps 4 and 5 are required only if the front suspension was placed in the horizontal position.
Position a suitable lifting device around the front suspension cylinder. Raise the front suspension cylinder to the vertical position. Remove the pins and two cotter pins (8).

Position Tooling (A). Install Bolts (X).

Install dowel (7) and key (6) to the frame assembly.

Use Tooling (A) to position the front suspension cylinder and the axle. The weight of the front suspension cylinder and the axle as a unit is approximately 1200 kg (2640 lb).

Install bolts (5). Tighten bolts (5) in a cross-tightening sequence. Tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 945 35 N m (700 26 lb ft).

Connect harness assembly (4).

Attach a suitable lifting device to steering arm (2). Position steering arm (2) on the axle. Install bolts (3).

Connect hose assembly (1) to the hydraulic caliper service brake.
Read all Warning labels on the suspension cylinders before servicing.The machine must be on level ground before releasing the nitrogen pressure.Do not check the oil in the suspension cylinder until all of the nitrogen pressure has been released.Do not remove valves, covers, or plugs from the cylinder unless the rod is fully retracted and all of the nitrogen pressure as been released.Stand clear of the machine during suspension cylinder charging, discharging, or testing and adjusting procedures, or while lifting or lowering the machine.Sudden movement upward or downward can cause clearance to change rapidly.Failure to heed this Warning could lead to injury or death.
Charge the front suspension cylinder. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Front Suspension (Cylinder) - Purge and Charge".
Personal injury or death can result from air in the oil for the brake hydraulic system.Air in the system can prevent complete brake application and it is possible that the wheels on the machine can not be stopped.Air must not be in the oil for the brake hydraulic system to function properly.
Remove the air from the brake system. Refer to Air System & Brakes System Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Brake System Air - Purge" for the correct procedure to remove air from the brake system.End By:
