Rework Procedure
Shutdown and secure the machine as outlined in the Operation and Maintenance Manual. Follow the Electrical Shutdown and Voltage Discharge Procedure in in the Operation and Maintenance Manual and/or in Troubleshooting, KENR8588 to verify that there is no voltage in the Inverter Cabinet.
Locate and remove the door covering the DC Bus Capacitor. Use the Electrical Shutdown and Voltage Discharge Procedure in Troubleshooting, KENR8588 to verify there is no voltage in this area of the Inverter Cabinet before proceeding.

Follow the Disassembly and Assembly Procedure in KENR8715 to Remove the DC Bus Capacitor.
After removing the capacitor, securely wrap bare copper wire across all 4 electrical terminals. Ensure the wire is in contact with the metal of all the terminals. This is to prevent electrical charge from building up in the capacitor.
Install the new Bus Bars as orientated in the picture below and tighten the mounting bolts to 27 NM (20 Ft lbs)
Image1.5.1
Attach the Voltage Sensor Wiring to the bus bars with the new hardware. Use the following hardware stack up and tighten to 15 NM (11 Ft Lbs)
**Note** DC Positive Bus is the Top Connection, and DC Negative is the Bottom Connection
Image1.6.1
Re-install the Inverter Cabinet Door and tighten the bolts to 12 NM (9 Ft Lbs).
The DC BUS Capacitor is filled with Food Grade Vegetable oil for cooling. The oil can be drained, if needed, for the Parts Disposition of the Capacitor.
1. Stand the Capacitor in the Vertical Position.
2. Use a metal saw to remove the "Fill Spout" from the top of the capacitor. Make your cut as close to the body of the capacitor as possible.
A small amount of oil may spray from the Fill Spout while cutting. Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment and do not stand directly in line with the cutting surface.
3. Turn the capacitor on its side and use a pan to collect the vegetable oil. A Vent hole may need to be drilled on the opposite end of the capacitor to allow air to enter the capacitor.
