Park the machine on a smooth, horizontal surface in an open area.Note: If the surface is not dirt, steel plates should be placed under the rotor. Asphalt or concrete can be damaged during this procedure.

Move propulsion lever (1) to the NEUTRAL position.

Move parking brake switch (2) to the ON position.

Move cab position switch (3) to the RIGHT position. Release the switch when the operator station reaches the right side of the machine.
Stop the engine.

Insert the red spoon from Tool (B) into terminal "14" (854-PK wire). Terminal "14" is in ECM connector (5) .
Insert the black spoon from Tool (B) into terminal "4" (200-BK wire). Terminal "4" is in ECM connector (5) .
Set Tool (A) to read "duty cycle".
Start the engine.

Move rotor raise switch (6) to RAISE. Hold the switch until the rotor is fully raised.
Record the duty cycle that is shown on Tool (A) .
Move rotor raise switch (6) to LOWER. Hold the switch until the rotor just touches the ground. Observe the duty cycle on Tool (A). The duty cycle should steadily decrease. The duty cycle should be 34 5 percent. If the duty cycle is not within range, go to Step 16.Note: The rear wheels will be lifted off the ground in steps 14 and 15.
To prevent personal injury when checks are made while the machine is in operation, make sure only approved personnel are on the machine. Keep other personnel off the machine and in view of the operator. Make sure checks are done in an open area.
Move rotor raise switch (6) to the LOWER position. Hold the switch until the rotor is fully lowered. Observe the duty cycle on the multimeter. The duty cycle should steadily decrease. If the duty cycle does not steadily decrease, replace the rotor position sensor.
Move rotor raise switch (6) to RAISE. Hold the switch until the rear wheels are on the ground. The rotor should just touch the ground.
Make sure that the front door is fully lowered.
Stop the engine. Move the key switch to the ON position. Remove the tooling.

Loosen lock ring (7). Slowly rotate needle valve (8) fully counterclockwise. The rotor may move slightly. Then, rotate the needle valve clockwise, and tighten the lock ring.

Under Left Side of Machine, in Front of Rotor Housing
Insert the red spoon from Tool (B) into pin "C" (854-PK wire). Pin "C" is in connector (11) .
Insert the black spoon from Tool (B) into pin "B" (234-BK wire). Pin "B" is in connector (11) .
Set Tool (A) to read "duty cycle".
Loosen two mounting bolts (9) and (10). Rotate the rotor position sensor until the duty cycle is 34 5 percent.
Hold the sensor and tighten mounting bolts (9) and (10) .
Remove the tooling.
Start the engine. Raise the rotor to the full UP position.
Retest the rotor position sensor. If the sensor operates within specification, calibrate the sensor. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Position Sensor (Rotor Depth) - Calibrate".
