The Security Menu
Use the following steps in order to access the "SECURITY" menu:

From the "MAIN MENU", press the up key or the down key in order to highlight the "CONFIGURE" menu. Press the "OK" key.

Press the up key or the down key in order to highlight the "SECURITY" menu. Press the "OK" key (14). A screen that is like Illustration 3 will appear.

DROP TO MIN LEVEL
ENTER LEVEL 1 OR 2
ENTER LEVEL 3
CHANGE LVL 1 PSWD
CHANGE LVL 2 PSWD
CHANGE SCADA PSWDSelecting "DROP TO MIN LEVEL" will make the control go to the minimum level of security. If the level 1 and level 2 passwords are not defined by the user, the minimum level of security will be level 2. If a level 2 password is defined by the user, but not a level 1 password, the minimum level of security will be level 1.If a level 1 password is defined by the user, but not a level 2 password, the minimum level of security will be level 0.

Selecting "ENTER LEVEL 1 OR 2" will open up a password entry screen. The password entry screen will have four spaces. In each space numbers from 0 through 9 can be entered. The password can be from 1 to 4 digits and is entirely user-defined. Enter the password for either level 1 or level 2 if either of those passwords have been defined.Refer to Illustration 4.
Press the up key or the down key in order to increment or decrement the highlighted digit to the desired number.
Press the left key or the right key to navigate between the digits.
Selecting "ENTER LEVEL 3" will cause the panel to display "PHONE IN WITH" and a 16-digit number will be displayed. Under the number, "ENTER RESPONSE" will be highlighted. Record the 16-digit number and call the technical communicator at the Caterpillar Dealer with this number. The technical communicator will reply with another 16-digit number.

Press the "OK" key from the "PHONE IN WITH" screen, and a password entry screen will be displayed. Enter the password that was supplied by the technical communicator in the same manner as the other types of passwords.
Press the "OK" key to confirm, or the escape key to reject the change. Press the "OK" key after entering the number to set the current level to 3. The control will remain in level 3 security level until no key presses have been made for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes of inactivity the control will revert to the minimum level of security. The following is required to change a level 3 parameter:
Level 3 password
PC connection using a service toolIf you have a service tool available, attempt to change the parameter using the service tool rather than calling the TC.Selecting "CHANGE LVL 1 PSWD" will allow for the level 1 password to be changed.
