FINAL DRIVE GP 1994662 - Caterpillar

All welds on the ROPS must be made according to the procedures given in Special Instruction Form SEHS6929. Do not make any welds until you have read and understood this instruction.
(1) Remove section assembly (1) from the rear of the operator's compartment and install 9D1743 Section Assembly (2) with S1594 Bolts and 9L9132 Washers, where the former section was removed. Use 5H2471 Cement to fasten 1065 (42.0") and 230 (9.1") long pieces of 5P815 Seal (3) to section (2) as shown. (2) Tack weld 5T4042 Section Assembly (4) on the rear of the ROPS. The top of section (4) must be in alignment with the top of the ROPS at (A). Make a 3.0 (.12") fillet weld across the top and along each side of section (4). On 631D, 633D, 637D and 639D machines, tackweld two 6D1093 Grab Irons (5) to the top of the ROPS and to the center of the rear ROPS leg at approximately the location as shown. Make 3.0 (.12") fillet welds around each end of the grab irons. (3) Tack weld 9D1501 Section (6) in position on the right side of the ROPS. The bottom of section (6) must be up approximately 3.0 (.12") from the bottom of the ROPS legs at locations (A) and (B). The front of section (6) must be against the ROPS at (C). Tack weld 9D1496 Plate (7) to section (6) at approximately the location shown and to the ROPS legs at (D) and (E). Make 3.0 (.12") fillet welds along each end of plate (7). Make 25.0 (1.0") long fillet welds 51.0 (2.0") apart along the top of plate (7). Use 5H2471 Cement to fasten a 1170 (46.1") long piece of 5P814 Seal (8) to 9D1737 Support (9). Remove the bolts along the right side of the operator's compartment and install support (9) with S1594 Bolts (10) and 9L9132 Washers. Put seal (8) under compression and tighten bolts (10). (4) Use a 5H4845 Seal Installation Tool Assembly and 6D1064 Seal (11) to install 9D1494 Glass (12) on the rear of the ROPS. Install 9D1897 Window Group (13) on the right side of the ROPS with 6D735 Seal (14).
