Information:

start by:a) remove oil pump and oil supply flange **See DISASSEMBLE TRANSMISSION. 1. Remove oil pump (1) from oil supply flange (2). 2. Remove shim (3) from the oil pump body. Remove seal ring (4) from the oil pump shaft. Remove retaining ring (5) from the oil pump shaft with tool (B). 3. Use a press and tooling (C) and remove oil pump shaft (6) and bearing (7) from the oil pump body. 4. Remove retaining ring (8) from oil pump shaft (6) with tool (A). Use a press and tooling (C) and remove oil pump shaft (6) from bearing (7). 5. Remove key (9) from oil pump shaft (6). 6. Remove bearing (10) from the oil pump body. 7. Remove torque converter relief valve spring (11) and the ball from the oil supply flange.8. Remove oil pump gasket (12) from the oil supply flange. 9. Remove retaining ring (13) with tool (A). Remove the shim (if so equipped). 10. Use tooling (C) and a press and remove shaft (14) from the oil supply flange. 11. Remove seal ring (15) from shaft (14).12. Turn the oil supply flange over. Use a soft punch and hammer to push bearing (16) approximately .125 in. (3.18 mm) out of the oil supply flange.
Gear (17) is free to fall.
13. Turn the oil supply flange over. Remove gear (17). 14. Use tooling (D) and remove bearing (16) from the oil supply flange. 15. Use tooling (D) and remove bearing (18) from the oil supply flange.Assemble Oil Pump And Oil Supply Flange
1. Install bearing (1) in the oil pump body. Make sure the closed side of the bearing is toward the outside of the oil pump. 2. Install retaining ring (2) on the oil pump shaft with tool (A).3. Use tooling (B) and a press and install bearing (3) on oil pump shaft (4). Make sure the closed side of the bearing is toward retaining ring (2). Install the bearing until it makes contact with the retaining ring. 4. Install key (5) in oil pump shaft (4). 5. Make an alignment of the keg in the oil pump shaft with the groove in the oil pump. Use a press and tooling (B) and install oil pump shaft (4) and bearing (3). If necessary push bearing (1) down until it is part of the retaining ring groove in the oil pump shaft.6. Install retaining ring (6) on the oil pump shaft with tool (C). 7. Install seal ring (7) on the oil pump shaft. Put clean oil on the seal ring. 8. Use a press and tooling (B) and install bearing (8) in the oil supply flange. 9. Install gear (9) with the long hub side toward bearing (8). 10. Use a press and tooling (B) and install bearing (10) in the oil supply flange.11. Turn the oil supply flange over. 12. Install seal ring (11) on shaft (12). Put clean oil on the seal ring.
