FITTING-DRAIN 1412607 - Caterpillar

Removal Procedure
Open the hood.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure.

Remove bolts (2) and belt guard (1) .

Remove belt (3) .

Loosen the clamp and remove tube (4) .
Loosen the clamp and remove hose (7) .
Loosen the clamp and remove hose (8) .
Remove bolts (6) and belt pulley (5) .

Remove water pump (10) and gasket (9) .Installation Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Install gasket (9) and water pump (10) .

Install belt pulley (5) and bolts (6) .
Install hose (8) and tighten the clamp.
Install hose (7) and tighten the clamp.
Install tube (4) and tighten the clamp.

Install belt (3). Tighten belt (3). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Belts - Inspect/Adjust/Replace" for additional information.

Install belt guard (1) and bolts (2) .
Fill the cooling system with coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure.
Turn the disconnect switch to the ON position.
Close the hood.
