Remove Timing Gears And Plate (D330C & 3304 Industrial & Marine Engines)
start by:a) remove timing gear coverb) remove fuel injection pump housing and governor1. Remove the accessory drive gear nut and washer. 2. Remove the accessory drive gear (1) with tooling (A).
Hold puller with hand to prevent injury when gear is being removed from the shaft.
3. Remove two idler gear bolts (2) and retainer (3). 4. Remove idler gear (5). Remove idler gear bearing with tooling (B).5. Remove four bolts (6) and remove the camshaft drive gear (4). 6. Remove ten plate bolts, bearing retainer (7) and timing gear plate (8).Install Timing Gears And Plate (D330C & 3304 Industrial & Marine Engines)
1. Install a new gasket on the accessory drive housing. Install a new gasket on the timing gear plate.2. Install the timing gear plate, accessory drive bearing retainer and timing gear plate bolts. 3. Install the camshaft drive gear with the mark on the gear in alignment with the mark on the crankshaft gear (1). 4. Install the camshaft gear bolts and lock.5. Install the idler gear bearing with tooling (B).6. Install the idler gear, retainer and bolts. 7. Install tool (A) on the accessory drive housing.8. Install the accessory drive gear.9. Install the conical washer on the drive shaft so the outside diameter makes contact with the gear first. Install and tighten the nut to 100 10 lb.ft. 1. Install a new gasket for the timing gear plate. 2. Install the timing gear plate (1) and the bolts that hold it. 3. Install the camshaft drive gear with the mark on the gear in alignment with the mark on the crankshaft gear (2). Install the bolts that hold the camshaft drive gear.4. Install the baring in idler gear with tooling (A). 5.
