In order to prevent personal injury from accidental screed movement, lock the screed in the RAISED position by using the service lock lever in order to extend the lock pins, after the screed is fully raised.
Note: Check the local regulations in the area of the job site for the use of cleaners and for the use of solvents.
Illustration 1 g03803103The Asphalt Paver is equipped with a spraydown hose and hose reel (1). The spraydown hose is located on the operator platform for the screed, as shown. The spraydown hose is used to clean asphalt from the auger, the conveyor, and the screed areas.
Stop the machine on level ground. Stop the machine in an area away from the mat. If parking the machine on a grade is necessary, block the tracks securely.
Use the display in order to turn the spraydown pump ON. For more information refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Monitoring System". Note: The pump will automatically turn off after 15 minutes, unless the time as been modified within the monitoring system.
Pull the trigger in order to start the spraydown. Release the trigger in order to stop the spraydown.
Clean the entire length of conveyor drive chains and slats on the paver push roller and the drag conveyors. Spray the entire length of the drag conveyor. Spray the entire auger conveyor in order to clean the auger and lubricate the auger. Clean the front of the screed and the bottom of the screed. Clean the area of the hopper.
Use the display in order to turn the spraydown pump OFF.
Retract the spraydown hose onto the reel.
