Information:

Personal injury can result if the machine moves while testing. If the machine begins to move during test, reduce the engine speed immediately and engage the parking brake.
While observing the status of the active CID 2866 FMI 14 diagnostic code, turn the key start switch and start the machine. The signal wire must be grounded for approximately 5 seconds after start-up. Expected Result:The active CID 2866 FMI 14 diagnostic code switched to an active CID 2866 FMI 04 diagnostic code for approximately 5 seconds only, when the ECM pin at J2-35 is grounded and the machine is started. Results:
YES - A CID 2866 FMI 04 diagnostic code was momentarily activated after the ECM pin was grounded and the machine started. The ECM responded correctly to the grounded circuit condition in the circuit. The ECM is most likely not the cause of the problem. Install the current feedback wire circuit wire R926-OR and socket in the original location in the J2 harness connector.
Proceed to Test Step 3.
NO - The CID 2866 FMI 14 diagnostic code remained active. The status of the active diagnostic code did not change when the ECM pin for the feedback circuit was grounded and the machine started. Repair: The ECM has not responded correctly to the grounded condition in the current feedback circuit. The operation of the ECM is not correct. Ensure that the latest version of software is loaded on the Implement ECM. If the software is not the latest version, flash the latest version of software to the Implement ECM. If the diagnostic code remains active after flashing the latest software version to the ECM, the ECM could be causing the problem. If the ECM must be replaced, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Replace".STOPTest Step 3. CHECK THE FEEDBACK CIRCUIT FOR A SHORTThe harness connector P-C3 remains disconnected from the left joystick.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the jumper wire that was used in the last step.
Disconnect the machine harness connectors J1 and J2 from the Implement ECM. Inspect the connector contacts. Ensure that each connector contact is clean, dry and in good condition. Measure the resistance between the torque motor current feedback contact at J2-35 (wire R926-OR) and each individual circuit that is used on the J1 and J2 harness connectors. Measure the resistance between the torque motor current feedback contact at J2-35 and frame ground.Expected Result:Each individual resistance measurement is greater 5000 ohms. Results:
OK - Each individual resistance measurement is greater 5000 ohms.Repair: The resistance measurements are not indicating that the feedback circuit is shorted to another circuit in the Implement ECM harness or to frame ground. Perform the same resistance checks between the feedback circuit and the other ECM circuit in order to rule out a short to a circuit in another harness. Proceed to Test Step 4.
NOT OK - One or more of the resistance measurements between the feedback circuit and another circuit is less than 5000 ohms. There
