FITTING 5352652 - Caterpillar

start by: a) remove inlet manifoldb) remove exhaust manifoldc) remove water manifoldd) remove rocker shaft assembly and push rods 1. Fasten tool (A) to the cylinder block and the bracket for the fan belt tightener as shown. Loosen the belt tension with tool (A). Remove the belts from the pulley. 2. Disconnect line (1) from the radiator.3. Disconnect all wires (2) from the glow plugs.4. Remove the bolts that hold cover (3) to the cylinder head assembly. Remove the cover and old gasket from the cylinder head assembly. 5. Remove twenty nuts (4) and washers that hold the cylinder head assembly to the cylinder block.6. Move bracket (6) out of the way of the cylinder head assembly.7. Install two 3/8"-16NC forged eyebolts in the cylinder head assembly. Fasten a hoist to the cylinder head assembly.8. Remove cylinder head assembly (5). Weight of the cylinder head assembly is 300 lb. (136 kg).9. Remove the old cylinder head gasket from the cylinder block.10. Remove the rear cylinder head assembly. Follow Steps 3 through 9.Install Cylinder Head Assembly
1. Put a new head gasket (4) in position on the cylinder block.2. Install ferrules (3) and seals in the cylinder block.3. Fasten a hoist to the cylinder head assembly. Put cylinder head assembly (1) in position on the cylinder block.
Make sure the ferrules are in the correct position in the cylinder block and cylinder head assembly. Make sure the cylinder head assembly is flat against the cylinder head gasket.
4. Put bracket (2) in position on the cylinder head assembly.5. Put 9M3710 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of the studs that hold the cylinder head assembly in position.6. Install the twenty washers and nuts that hold the cylinder head assembly in position. 7. Tighten the nuts to the correct torque as follows: a) Tighten nuts in number sequence to a torque of 180 10 lb.ft. (244.0 13.56 N m).b) Tighten nuts again in number sequence to a torque of 300 10 lb.ft. (406.7 13.56 N m).c) Tighten nuts again (hand turn only) to a torque of 300 10 lb.ft. (406.7 13.6 N m). 8. Install a new gasket (6) on the cylinder head assembly. Install cover (5) and the bolts that hold it.9. Connect the wires to the glow plugs.10. Connect line (7) to the radiator.11. Put the belts in position on the pulley. Remove the tension from the fan belt tightener with tool (A). Remove tool (A).12. Install the rear cylinder head assembly. Follow Steps 1 through 8.end by: a) install rocker shaft assembly and push rodsb) install water manifoldc) install exhaust manifoldd) install inlet manifold
