Information:


At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure. The radiator and all lines to heaters or the engine contain hot water or steam. Any contact can cause severe burns. Look at the sight guage to check the coolant level. The coolant level should be in the green range. If necessary, remove the fill cap only after the engine has been stopped and the cap is cool enough to remove with your bare hand. Remove the cooling system fill cap slowly to relieve pressure. Cooling system condition contains alkali that can cause personal injury. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes and do not drink. Allow cooling system components to cool before draining.
Put identification on all lines, hoses, wires and tubes for installation purposes. Cap and plug all lines, hoses and tubes to prevent foreign material from entering the system. Drain all fluids in a suitable container for storage or disposal. 1. Drain the coolant from the radiator.2. Remove eight bolts (1) from screen assembly (2).3. Fasten a hoist and a strap as shown and remove both screen assemblies (2). The weight of the screen assembly is 77 kg (170 lb). 4. Remove six bolts (3) and remove two cover assemblies (4). 5. Remove four bolts (5) and remove plate assembly (6). 6. Loosen two hose clamps and remove two hose assemblies (8).7. Remove two bolts (7) from the mounting flange. 8. Apply upward pressure on radiator core (9) to remove the lower base of radiator core (9) from the seal (10) and use two people to remove radiator core (9). The weight of radiator core (9) is 30 kg (66 lb).9. Remove seal (10). The following steps are for the installation of the radiator core. 10. Apply 207-1601 Rubber Lubricant to the internal bores of the seal before you install the radiator core. The 207-1600 Rubber Lubricant is used only in the North American Commercial Division. Apply 207-1600 Rubber Lubricant to the internal bores of the seal before you install the radiator core.Do not use a petroleum based lubricant on the seal. Refer to Special Instruction REHS1063. Soap may be used to lubricate the seal if the soap does not contain abrasive additives or chlorine.11. Install radiator core (9). 12. Make sure radiator core (9) is seated properly and then install bolts (7).13. Install hose assembly (8). 14. Install plate assembly (6) and bolts (5). 15. Install cover assembly (4) and bolts (3). 16. Install screen assembly (2) and bolts (1). Refer to the Topic "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities" in the Operation and Maintenance Manual for the proper filling procedure and the proper levels for the hydraulic system and the cooling system.
