Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the differential and bevel gear. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Differential and Bevel Gear - Remove". Note: Install caps and plugs on all openings in order to prevent dirt or debris from entering the system. Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will prevent dirt from entering the internal components.

Position differential carrier assembly (1) on a suitable fixture, as shown. The weight of differential carrier assembly (1) is 1185 kg (2610 lb).

Remove two locking bolts (4) and the hard washers that secure tube assembly (3) to differential carrier assembly (1).
Remove four twelve point head bolts (2), tube assembly (3) and the O-ring seal from differential carrier assembly (1).

Remove four twelve point head bolts (5) and the washers that secure tube assembly (6) to differential carrier assembly (1).
Remove tube assembly (6) and the O-ring seals from differential carrier assembly (1).

Remove four bolts (8) and the washers that secure gear pump (7) to differential carrier assembly (1). Remove gear pump (7) from differential carrier assembly (1).

Remove shims (9) from differential carrier assembly (1).

Remove cotter pin (10) in order to remove slotted nut (11).
Remove slotted nut (11) and the washer in order to remove gear (12) from gear pump (7).
