SAFETY - PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR UPDATING THE BRAKE CONTROL SOFTWARE ON CERTAIN OFF-HIGHWAY TRUCKS
MODELS INVOLVED - 793F, 795F, AND 797F Off-Highway Trucks
Dear Cat Product Owner:
The brake control software needs to be updated on the products listed below. The existing software may not detect a brake accumulator pressure sensor that is failed. Failure of the sensor may prevent the braking system from maintaining the proper charge on the primary brake accumulators. Failure of the sensor may, in conjunction with other factors or circumstances, result in a risk of personal injury or death. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Cat dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 19Dec2012 when scheduling this service.

Rework Procedure
1. Prior to adding the orificed connectors, flash updated software. (see Note 1 below for additional information when flashing new software)
- It is recommended to check for the latest versions of all machine software files and update at this time.
- SSP00113, 115-116, 132-136 will require the 27Jun2012 Service Letter - PI32051 be completed prior to updating this software.
2. After updating the software, key the machine on to detect any pressure sensors that need replaced. The operator will be notified of any faulty sensors with a level 3 alarm.
- Error code 1961-20 for Service Brake Accumulator Pressure Fault
- Error code 2813-20 for Secondary Brake Accumulator Sensor Fault
3. Install seals (1), orificed connectors (2), and adapters (3). Replace any sensors identified as failed in Step 2.

Note 1: Failure may occur while Flashing Advisor Software on certain machines that are listed above. While updating, or loading the advisor software, Winflash stops loading and locks up at a low percentage.
Perform the following instructions if failure occurs while loading/updating advisor software:
1. If you are using a Comm III adapter to install the advisor software, make sure that the Comm III toolkit, drivers on the computer, and firmware on Comm III adapter are updated. Download the files and save to the computer. Theses files are large
