If the damper jacket is loose around the powercell, cracked or damaged, damper jacket (4) must be replaced.Lower damper (3) must also be inspected before replacing upper damper (1). If lower damper (3) does not meet reuse specification in the Service Manual, cracked or damaged on the powercell supporting surface, lower damper (3) must be replaced. The centering ring on the lower damper that sticks out of the housing can be chipped away from normal use and can be reused.Rework Jacket
Insert four high-density polyethylene rods between the jacket and the power cell to prevent excessive side to side movement within the housing.Note: Any burrs or sharp edges must be removed from the post on the valve body.
