Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove bolts (2) and the washers in order to remove radiator guard (1) from the right side of the machine.

Remove bolts (4) and the washers in order to remove radiator guard (3) from the left side of the machine.

From the underside of top cover (6), remove five bolts (5) and the five washers.
Drain the coolant to a level that is below the coolant tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change".

Remove radiator cap (7) and brace (8). Reposition top cover (6) that was previously disconnected out of the way.

Disconnect hose (9) and remove nuts (10) .

Disconnect hose (11). Remove clamp (12) and remove coolant tank (13) .Installation Procedure

Install coolant tank (13) and clamp (12). Connect hose (11) .

Install nuts (10) and connect hose (9) .

Reposition top cover (6) that was previously removed. Install radiator cap (7) and brace (8) .

From the underside of top cover (6), install bolts (5) and the washers.

Install radiator guard (3) onto the left side of the machine. Install bolts (4) and the washers.

Install radiator guard (1) onto the right side of the machine and install bolts (2) and the washers.
