C-12 oil pressure map C-15 and C-16 Engines
The engine has been running for at least 10 seconds. This 10 second delay begins once the engine speed is within 50 rpm of low idle.
Engine oil pressure is below the trip line in Illustration 2 for two seconds.
100-03 Engine Oil Pressure open/short to +batt is not active.
100-04 Engine Oil Pressure short to ground is not active.

C-15 and C-16 oil pressure mapSystem Response:The ECM will log the warning. The ECM will transmit a warning to the display in the cab. The ECM will reset the warning when the oil pressure is above the reset line for 20 seconds.
Low power
There may be a problem with the engine lubrication system.
There may be a problem with the engine oil pressure sensor.Test Step 1. Check for Diagnostic Codes
Connect the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET) to the service tool connector.
Turn the keyswitch to the ON position. The engine should be off.
Check for any active diagnostic codes or logged diagnostic codes.Expected Result:There should be no diagnostic codes that are present.Results:
OK - Proceed to Test Step 2.
Not OK - Repair: Repair the diagnostic codes that are present. Refer to the appropriate topic in the "Troubleshooting With a Diagnostic Code" section of this manual.Ensure that the repair eliminates the problem. Stop.Test Step 2. Perform a Check of the Engine Lubrication System
Perform a check of the engine lubrication system. Refer to Troubleshooting, "Low Engine Oil Pressure".Expected Result:There are no problems with engine oil pressure.Results:
OK - There may be an intermittent problem.Repair: Monitor the operation of the engine.Repair the problem.Ensure that the repair eliminates the problem. Stop.
Not OK - Repair: Repair the problem.Ensure that the repair eliminates the problem. Stop.
