Special Instruction, SEHS9141, "Install 8R8790 Three-Point Hitch Draft Control" on Challenger 65 Tractors. A three-point hitch draft control allows the implement to raise and lower from its set depth in response to engine rpm. The draft control automatically resets itself to actuate hitch lift at 1900 rpm each time the key switch is turned off. The control also lowers the implement at engine speeds above 1900 rpm. This draft control only works with the three-point hitch.
The principle advantages of the draft control are a greater average tillage depth in a given gear, and more ground speed assuming there are variations in the soil.
