View from the top rear of the truckThe power source for the electric drive system is drive shaft (1) that is mechanically coupled to engine (2) in order to rotate generator (3). The generator uses mechanical energy from the engine in order to produce electrical energy.

Front view of the truckPower from generator (3) is transmitted to inverter (4). Inverter (4) controls the torque, direction, and speed of the truck. Generator (3) produces Alternating Current (AC). This power is rectified to Direct Current (DC) inside inverter (4). This DC power is inverted back to AC power. This AC power is then transmitted to rear wheel motors (6).

Side view of the truckRear axle (5) contains two rear wheel motors (6). Each wheel motor (6) is a three-phase AC induction motor. Wheel motors (6) convert the electrical energy from inverter (4) to rotating mechanical energy. The wheel motors are connected to final drives (7), which propel the rear wheels.
