Remove And Install Fuel Injection Pump Housing And Governor
START BY:a. remove automatic timing advanceb. remove fuel injection lines 1. Disconnect two lines (1) to the governor plate. Disconnect two lines (2) to the fuel transfer pump. 2. Remove bolts (3) and bolts (6). Remove brackets (4). Remove bolts (5). 3. Fasten a hoist to the fuel injection pump housing and governor. Move the pump and governor toward the rear of the engine until pump housing (7) is clear of timing advance housing (8).4. Remove the fuel injection pump housing and governor. Weight of fuel injection pump housing and governor is 50 kg (110 lb.). The following steps are for installation of the fuel injection pump housing and governor.5. Put clean engine oil on the O-ring seal found on pump housing (7) and on the two O-ring seals found on the bottom of the pump housing (oil inlet and oil outlet).
Make sure there is no paint, dirt or other foreign material on the machined surfaces of the engine or fuel injection pump housing.
7. Install brackets (4) with bolts (6) finger tight.8. Tighten bolts (3) to a standard torque. Tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 43 7 N m (32 5 lb.ft.).9. Connect fuel lines (1) and (2).END BY:a. install automatic timing advanceb. install fuel injection lines
