8T-5320     Hydraulic Test Group    The bulldozer tilt circuit uses the pressure limiter valve at a setting below the main relief valve setting. The pressure limiter valve is located in the bulldozer tilt control valve.
Personal injury or death can result from sudden machine movement.Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause injury to persons on or near the machine.To help prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the hydraulic and steering system:
Move the machine to a level location before the pressure test. Raise the hydraulic oil to operating temperature. Stop the engine. Move the control levers for the bulldozer and for the ripper to each position several times. This operation releases the pressure in the lines.
Put a 0 to 28000 kPa (0 to 4000 psi) pressure gauge on the 6V-3081 Hose. These tools are components of the 8T-5320 Hydraulic Test Group .
Remove the floorplates.

Connect the gauge with the hose to pressure tap (2) .
Start the engine. Lift the bulldozer 380 mm (15 inch) off the ground. Tilt the bulldozer blade all the way to the left.

Run the engine at high idle. Watch the test gauge. Move the control lever to the TILT LEFT position. Record the high reading on the gauge. The pressure setting of the pressure limiter valve is 1320 kPa (190 psi) below this recorded figure. The correct pressure setting for the pressure limiter valve is 17225 300 kPa (2500 45 psi). The 1320 kPa (190 psi) pressure differential is also called the margin pressure. The implement hydraulic pump maintains this pressure differential over the load pressure in the hydraulic system.
This step adjusts the pressure setting of the pressure limiter valve. Lower the bulldozer blade to the ground. Stop the engine. Loosen locknut (6) on the bulldozer tilt control valve. Turn adjustment screw (7) clockwise for an increase in the pressure setting. Turn adjustment screw (7) counterclockwise for a decrease in the pressure setting.
When the pressure setting is correct, tighten locknut (6) to a torque of 35 5 N m (26 4 lb ft). Remove the test equipment. Install the floorplates.
