The correct interval for changing the extended life coolant is 6000 hours or 6 years.
--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------Description of Change: Caterpillar extended life coolant is now used as factory fill. The extended life coolant replaces the 50% water and antifreeze solution previously used. The extended life coolant reduces maintenance costs by extending the coolant change interval to 5000 service hours and eliminating the need for coolant conditioner element changes on models equipped with a coolant conditioner group.Adaptable To: This change is effective with D25D (1HK691), D30D (3AJ420) D250E (5TN1315), D300E (7FN665), D350E (9LR420), and D400E (2YR686) Articulated Trucks and is adaptable to all earlier machines. At the next service interval, flush the system thoroughly and fill with extended life coolant. On machines with coolant conditioners, the conditioner can be left in place with an empty can or removed completely. Do not install a maintenance or pre-charge element.
