Operation on steep slopes or ramps may result in machine tip over or skidding. Load and unload machine on level ground to avoid damage or personal injury.Avoid any sudden movement of machine. Braking and propelling traction are reduced on ramps and trailer beds. Improperly driven machine may result in damage or injury.
1. Following the starting and operation procedures, drive the machine to the tie down position on the trailer.2. When tie down position is reached, stop machine, turn key switch off, and remove key. 3. Place the steering frame lock link in the locked position. 4. Set parking brake. 5. CP-553 Lower leveling blade (if equipped).6. Inflate tires to 206 kPa (30 psi) for shipping. 7. Block front and rear of drum. 8. Support drum yoke on each side with 101.6 mm x 152.4 mm x 355.6 mm (4 in. x 6 in. x 14 in.) blocks. 9. After all blocking is in place, chain machine down.Lifting the Machine
Make sure lifting cables and other lifting devices are strong enough to support the machine.Consult your Caterpillar dealer for the proper size and type of cables and lifting devices.Use guide or tag lines to prevent the machine from swinging or turning.
1. Place the steering frame lock link in the locked position. 2. Attach rear lifting cables around the right and left axle housing. 3. Attach front lifting hooks to the right and left drum shell. 4. Connect these four lifting cables to a lifting cable over the center of the machine.
