The fuel in the engine electronic control module and in the hose assemblies connected to the module may be under high pressure. When the hose assemblies connected to the module are disconnected, the pressure will be released. Fuel under high pressure can penetrate the body causing personal injury. To release the pressure, slowly loosen the hose assembly.
2. Mark and identify wire harnesses (1) and (2) for installation purposes. Disconnect wire harnesses (1) and (2) from engine electronic control (3). 3. Mark and identify hose assemblies (4) and (5) for installation purposes. Disconnect hose assemblies (4) and (5) from engine electronic control (3). Cap and plug hose all connections to avoid system contamination. 4. Remove four bolts (6), the washers, the spacers, and the mounts from the engine. Disconnect cable (7). Remove engine electronic control (3) from the engine. The following steps are for the installation of the engine electronic control.5. Make sure all components of the engine electronic control are clean of dirt and foreign material prior to installation.6. Check all components for wear or damage and replace if necessary.7. Put engine electronic control (3) in position on the engine. Put cable (7) in position and install four bolts (6), the washers, the spacers, and the mounts to the engine.8. Connect hose assemblies (4) and (5) to engine electronic control (3).9. Install two wire harnesses (1) and (2) to engine electronic control (3).10. Turn the fuel supply valve, located on the fuel tank, to the "On" position.11. Prime the fuel system.
