General Information
This section describes how the operator uses the Detect Strategy to see and respond to warnings about machine position. The warnings appear in the following ways:
On the Plan window
On the Status bar
Through specific dialogsDetect uses the on-board software to report the machine position to the office when the office is using Cat Fleet with Detect office software. With respect to the machine being operated, the on-board software warns the operator when other machines are close or when the machine enters a restricted zone. Detect applies to all machines on the site.Display

Starting the Machine
When first starting up a machine utilizing Terrain or Detect, allow for proper startup time. Before moving the machine within the area of autonomous operation, review the Status bar and ensure that the on-board radio module and the satellite receiver are functioning and reliable.Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU8164, "System Startup and Shutdown" for detailed information regarding the buttons and icons on the Status bar.Plan Windows
Plan windows show where and how large the zone is with respect to the machine. Plan windows also may be set up to show the proximity awareness regions around the machine (machine regions).Zones

Zones cannot be created, deleted, or modified by the operator.Restricted zones are marked with a "no entry" symbol at regular intervals along the edge of the zone. Speed limits, avoidance markers, and zone names are only displayed when zoomed in close enough to be relevant.A "zone incident" occurs when Terrain detects that one of the regions of the machine has crossed over the edge of a restricted zone. There are two levels of alarm.
Caution (low level) alarm
Stop (high level) alarmMachine Regions

(4) Path (white dotted) Three machine regions are defined in the office software and are based on machine type. (2) Body - Static (fixed size) region (3) Avoidance - Static (fixed size) region (4) Path - Dynamic region that considers machine speed and other parametersA Proximity Incident occurs when Terrain detects that one of the regions of a machine has crossed over a region of another machine indicating that the machine is too close to the other machine. There are three levels of Incident alarm.Caution - Your Path region has crossed into any other machine region.Critical - Your Avoidance region has crossed into any other machine region.Stop - Your Body region has crossed into any other machine region.
Menu - Opens the main menuTo enable or stop the machine regions from appearing on the Plan window, complete these steps:
