Information:
4. Use STICK IN position to extend the track frame by moving the car body away from the track.5. After the raised track frame has been correctly extended, lower the raised track frame to the ground. 6. Align the bolt holes of the car body and the track frame and install 20 bolts (7) and spacers (8). If necessary, slowly operate the machine back and forth to put the bolt holes in alignment. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 2700 300 N m (2000 220 lb ft).9. Repeat steps 1-6 for the opposite track frame.Standard Counterweight Removal and Installation
Never allow anyone under the counterweight during removal and installation of the counterweight.Make sure the lifting cables and other lifting devices are in good condition and have enough strength for the lifting situation involved. The hydraulic activation control lever must be in the locked position to prevent any unexpected machine movement.
Counterweight Removal
1. Place the machine on a hard, level surface. Lower the front implement to the ground. 2. Move the hydraulic activation control lever to the locked position. 3. Two hooks are provided in the counterweight. Remove bolt (1) and holder (2) that hold each hook (3) in place. 4. Fasten a proper rated cable with shackles to brackets (3). Use an appropriate lifting device in order to tension the cables. If there is too much tension or too little tension on the cable, the bolts will be difficult to remove. 5. Remove eight counterweight mounting bolts and washers.6. Lift the counterweight enough so that there is no load on the retaining pins.7. Separate the counterweight from the machine. Lower the counterweight onto suitable supports.Counterweight Installation
Perform the removal procedure in reverse order. Temporarily tighten the eight counterweight mounting bolts and loosen the tension of the lifting cable. After making sure the counterweight is correctly positioned on the retaining pins, tighten the bolts evenly to a torque of 2700 300 N m (2000 220 lb ft) in a diagonal sequence.Counterweight Removal and Installation (Hydraulic)(If Equipped)
Unexpected machine movement can cause injury or death. To avoid possible machine movement, place the hydraulic activation control lever to the locked position and attach a Special Instruction, SEHS7332, "Do Not Operate" or similar warning tag to the control lever.
Personal injury or death can occur from a counterweight falling during removal or installation.Do not allow personnel under or around the counterweight during removal or installation.Make sure that the lifting device is in good condition and is capable of handling the weight of the counterweight.
Make certain personnel are clear of the cable when there is a load on it. Cable can break and cause personal injury.
Counterweight Removal
1. Place the machine on a hard, level surface. Lower the front implement to the ground.2. Start the engine and turn the engine speed dial to position "3". 3. Move the hydraulic activation control lever to the LOCKED position. Attach a "Do Not Operate" warning tag or similar warning tag to the start switch or to the controls. 4.
