Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove bolt (4) and clips (3).
Disconnect and reposition hose assembly (2).

Use Tooling (A) and remove filter assemblies (7).

Remove bolts (9) and fuel filter base (8).

Remove temperature sensor (10) and pressure sensor (11).

Remove fitting group (12).

Remove studs (13).Installation Procedure
Install fuel filter base (8) in the reverse order of removal.
Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of studs (13). Tighten studs (13) to a torque of 70 15 N m (52 11 lb ft).
Tighten pressure sensor (11) to a torque of 10 2 N m (89 18 lb in).
Tighten temperature sensor (10) to a torque of 20 3 N m (177 27 lb in).
Lubricate seals and bores of filter assemblies (7) lightly with the fluid that is being sealed.
