Examine the display. If "Regen Conditions Not Met" warning (9) is shown and the banner is yellow, allow the engine to operate until the regeneration cycle is complete. The cycle may require up to 1 hour to complete. If the warning banner is red, use Cat® ET to complete a regeneration cycle as soon as possible. If no engine regeneration warning is shown, go to the next step.

Press and hold push to start switch (10). Release the switch when the engine stops.

Move machine power switch (11) to the OFF position.

Open pump compartment door (12).

Disconnect reverse EDC connector (13).
Disconnect forward EDC connector (14).

Remove forward plug (16) from port "X1".
Remove reverse plug (15) from port "X2".
Install Tool (B) in port "X1". Install Tool (C) in Tool (B). Install second Tool (B) in port "X2". Install second Tool (C) in this Tool (B). Use Tool (D) to connect port "X1" and port"X2".
Connect one Tool (A2) to Tool (C) in port "X1".

Move machine power switch (11) into the ON position. After the home screen is shown on display (17), press, and hold push to start switch (10). Release the switch when the engine starts.

Actuate screen unlock switch (18) to enable the touch screen on the display.Note: When the display is enabled, an LED next to the screen unlock switch is illuminated.

Tap status icon (19) to enter the status screen.

Operate the engine at low idle for a few minutes. Press rpm increase switch (20) once to operate the engine in high idle.

Monitor hydraulic oil temperature (21) on the display. Operate the machine until the oil temperature reaches a minimum of 45 10 °C (113 18 °F).
Use Tool (A1) to record the pressure differential between port "X1" and port "X2". The allowable pressure differential is given in "Specifications" Table 2.
If the pressure differential is outside the allowable range, perform "Adjustment Procedure". If the pressure differential is inside the specified range, go to the next step.
Press rpm decrease switch (8) once to operate the engine in low idle.Note: If necessary, perform a regeneration cycle before the engine is stopped.
Press and hold push to start switch (10). Release the switch when the engine stops.
Move machine power switch (11) to the OFF position.
Remove Tool (B) from port "X1". Install plug (16) in port "X1".
Remove Tool (B) from port"X2". Install plug (15) in port"X2".
Connect reverse EDC connector (13).
Connect forward EDC connector (14).

Illustration 16 g06077513Note: Adjustment screw (23) is an eccentric adjuster. One-half revolution of the adjustment screw gives maximum adjustment.
Loosen locking screw (22) with a 10 mm wrench. Rotate adjustment screw (23) with a standard screwdriver until the pressure at port "X1" and the pressure at port "X2" are equal. Hold adjustment screw (23), and tighten locking screw (22).
Go to Step 6 of "Test Procedure".
