Remote control engine start circuitThe components of the engine start (remote control) circuit are the remote control switch, the remote control logic unit, the Power Train Electronic Control Module (Power Train ECM), the start relay, the starting motor solenoid, and the starting motor.

Remote control logic unit (4) Engine start relay #1When remote control switch (1) is in the ON position a radio signal is sent by the transmitter to the receiver. The receiver sends a signal to remote control logic unit (2). Engine start relay #1 (4) is activated and a 24 volt battery supply is supplied to Power Train ECM (3).

When the start relay is energized, 24 volt power is supplied to starting motor solenoid (7). When the starting motor solenoid is energized 24 volt power is supplied to starting motor (8). The engine will begin to crank.
