START BY:a) remove elevator drive sprockets and speed reducer 1. Install hoist and tool (A) on the elevator frame as shown. 2. Install a hoist on arm assembly (2). Remove bolts (1) that fasten the arm assembly to the elevator frame.3. Remove the nuts (3) that fasten shaft assembly to the elevator bowl. Remove shaft assembly (4) and arm assembly (2). Weight of arm assembly is 41 kg (90 lb.) Repeat procedure for removal of the arm assembly on the opposite side of the elevator frame. 4. Install a hoist on arm assembly (7). Remove two bolts, bar (5), pin (6) and shims. Lower arm assembly and remove hoist. Repeat procedure for the opposite side arm assembly. 5. Use hoist and tool (A) to lift elevator frame (8) from the scraper bowl. Weight of elevator frame is 907 kg (2000 lb.). 6. Fasten a hoist to arm assembly (7) and remove bolts (10), rings (9) and arm assemblies (7). Weight of the arm assemblies is 29 kg (65 lb.). 7. Remove bearings from arms with tooling (B) and (C).Install Elevator
1. Use tooling (A) to install bearing (2) in arms (1). The bearing must be even (flush) with the edge of the arms. 2. Install bearings (3) in the opposite end of arms with tooling (B). The bearings must be installed to a depth of 4.8 1.5 mm (.189 .059) from either edge of the arms. 3. Install a hoist on arm assemblies (1). Put arm assemblies in position on the elevator frame and install ring (4). 4. Fasten a hoist and tool (C) to the elevator frame (5) and put it in position in the scraper bowl. 5. Install shims (7) and pin (6) to fasten arm assemblies to the scraper bowl. Make an adjustment to shims (7) as necessary to get a clearance of 5 3 mm (.2 1 in.) between the arm assemblies and the scraper bowl. 6. Fasten a hoist to arm assemblies (8) and install shaft assemblies (9). Install bolts to fasten arm assemblies to the side of the elevator frame. Remove hoist from link assemblies. 7.
