52. Remove shaft (83), gear (88) and two washers (86). Remove bearing (87) from the gear. Remove the pin from shaft (83).53. Remove the other two gears from the No. 5 planet carrier assembly. Follow the procedure in Steps 51 and 52.Assemble Transmission
1. Install bearing (1) in No. 5 clutch housing (2) with tooling (A) as shown. 2. Install spiral ring (3) in the No. 5 clutch housing to hold the bearing in position. 3. Install bearing (5) in gear (4). Install the gear and bearing, two washers (6) and shaft (7) in the No. 5 planet carrier. Install the pin that holds the shaft in position in the planet carrier.4. Install the other two gears in the No. 5 planet carrier. Follow the procedure in Step 3. 5. Install rings (8) and (9) on the planet carrier assembly.6. Install the No. 5 clutch housing on the No. 5 planet carrier assembly. 7. Install spiral ring (10) to hold the No. 5 planet carrier assembly in the No. 5 clutch housing. 8. Turn the No. 5 clutch over. Install spacer (14), two races and one bearing from the bottom. Install one bearing (12), two races (13) and spiral ring (11) on the spacer. 9. Install two gears (15) on output shaft (17). Install the shaft and gears through the spacer in the No. 5 clutch housing. Install spiral ring (16), slide the shaft in until spiral ring (18) can be installed. 10. Install seal ring (22) in the No. 5 clutch housing. Install seal ring (21) on the No. 5 piston. Install five pins (20) in the clutch housing. Install No. 5 piston (19) in the No. 5 clutch housing. 11. Install No. 5 ring gear (23) in the No. 5 clutch. Install the ring gear with the counterbore up as shown.12. Install one plate and two disc assemblies in the No. 5 clutch. When the plate and disc assemblies are installed in their respective clutch housings start with a disc assembly and end with a disc assembly. 13. Install ten springs (25). Install No. 4 clutch housing (24) on the pins as shown. Make sure that all springs are in the correct position in the piston and the clutch housing. 14. Install seal ring (26) in the No. 4 clutch housing. Install seal ring (28) on the No. 4 piston. Install piston (27). 15. Install ring (30) on the No. 5 planet carrier. Put the ring under compression and install No. 4 ring gear (29) as shown. 16. Install two pins (31) with a hammer and punch to keep the ring in expansion. 17. Install three disc assemblies (32) and two plates (33) in the No. 4 clutch as shown. 18. Install the bearing in the No. 3 clutch housing with tooling (B) as shown. Install seal ring (34) in the clutch housing. 19. Install spiral ring (35) in the No. 3 clutch housing as shown. 20. Install two bearings (39) in gear (38). Install the gear
